    Laura Mercier Haul

Hello hello hello! September was a bit of a mad month so blogging wasn't exactly a main priority, I wasn't feeling inspired at all so I didn't post twice a week like I usually do (there's nothing worse than trying to force content).

However, despite my lack of motivation and inspiration a lot of good came out of September. As I mentioned in my last post, I got a new job! I now work for Laura Mercier which I am absolutely over the moon about! I love Laura Mercier products and the looks they create so starting this journey is definitely something I'm excited about!

So I'm dedicating this blog post to my new job! It's hard to resist all the beautiful products so of course I had to get my hands on a few!

I picked up the Silk Crème Moisturising Foundation in the shade Cashew Beige. I love a dewy finish and I love full coverage so I can't wait to try this out!

I also picked up two Crème Smooth Lipsticks in the shades Crushed Pecan which is a beautiful warm nude (I can't stop wearing this) and Sienna which is a dark red colour (I can't wait to wear this throughout autumn!). I love the formula of these lipsticks they're really moisturising so they don't dry out your lips during the day which makes them so easy to wear.

(From left to right: Crushed Pecan, Sienna and Bronze 4).

I also grabbed a Lip Liner in the shade Red Chocolate to match with the Sienna lipstick.

Last but not least I picked up the Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Bronze 4. I love this bronzer because it has a warm tone similar to MAC Give Me Sun. I've been wearing this bronzer everyday and although it has a matte finish it does have a radiance within it too which makes the skin look so fresh and not cakey!

That concludes my Laura Mercier Haul! I'm so blessed and grateful to be given this opportunity and looking forward to start my new journey and to learn more about the products (and hopefully discover some holygrails too!) let me know what your favourite Laura Mercier products are in the comments below! See you soon!

    September on Rebecca Olivia Capel

September always seems to be a busy month for me. Last month I started my second makeup course and got a new job after being in the same one for 3 years! So October feels like a whole new chapter in my life and I'm so excited!

But now we're into October so here's a summary of all the posts which featured on my blog last month!

    ProBlo CurlMe Review

Happy Monday! If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen that just before I went away I was very kindly sent this beautiful package from ProBlo. I love big bouncy hair so I was super excited to give these a go!

The CurlME set comes with 2 small, 2 medium and 2 large barrels, a handle, 6 clips and a cute little travel bag. The products feel of good quality and well made!

I started off by sectioning my hair and then attaching the handle to any barrel. Using my hairdryer on a low speed, high heat setting I went down the section of my hair with the "brush" and the dryer curling at the ends. I did this twice before rolling the hair up the barrel from the ends to the roots and further heating this with the hairdryer. I then attached a clip and pressed the button on the handle to release the handle from the barrel - super easy!
I then repeated this until my whole head was done, waited a while and then took them all out and here was my results!

    So what do I think?
I found the set super easy to use and I loved the beachy waves I got from the barrels, the products are good quality too! However, I did find that even with hairspray my waves did drop quite quickly so next time I would leave these in much longer. Also, my hair is very thick and long so six barrels was not enough to cover my head so I did have roll some curls up and clip them to set without a barrel.

Let me know if you have tried the CurlME by ProBlo in the comments and be sure to check out their website too! See you soon!

    Holiday Haircare Holygrails

Hello lovelies! In 3 days I'm jetting off to Alcudia for some sun and thought I'd do a series of holiday posts about beauty/makeup products I'll be taking with me! I have Holiday Haircare Holygrails, Holiday Makeup Kit and Holiday Beauty Essentials coming up in the next week so keep your eyes peeled for those!

It's no secret that the warm weather has got it in for our hair. It wants to make your hair frizzy and very Monica-esque when they go to Barbados!

Also the sea and chlorine from the pool can dry out your hair so I've got a couple of products which help me sort out my hair and keep it looking non-frizzy when I go away.

I use the Aussie Reconstructor 3 Minute Miracle. I love the 3 minute miracles from Aussie, they smell good and they do the job. However, I don't use this as a treatment as such, I just replace my conditioner with this! My hair gets so dry during the day from the sun, sea, chlorine etc so all that moisture needs to be put back in. Hence why I use a treatment as a conditioner! After shampooing, I run this all over my hair then leave it in whilst I exfoliate etc and then rinse thoroughly.

Next up is the Mark Hill Miracoilous Moroccan Argan Oil. This is a product I use every time I wash my hair, holiday or not. I've gone through at least 6 of these as it's my favourite hair product ever. My hair is long and thick so my ends need a little bit of extra love. After my hair is washed and damp, I take 2 pumps of this (a little goes a long way) and rub it between my palms to warm up the product and run it through the ends of my hair. This product helps to keep my ends silky smooth and also makes my hair easier to style too.

My last holygrail product is L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray. This is my favourite hairspray I always have 2 or 3 of the huge cans in my bedroom as I go through so much of it! However, maybe taking one of the extra large cans away with me is too excessive, so I opted for a minature one! I use this to set my hair after styling whether its curly, straight or a slick back pony (get those baby hairs under control).

That's it for my Holiday Haircare Holygrails I hope you enjoyed reading it! Let me know what your favourite products are in the comments below!

    Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Collection

My love for Makeup Geek Eyeshadows is definitely not a shock to anyone. I've talked about them on here before in a few posts but I've never actually talked about the different types of eyeshadows, their prices or shown you the different ones I have in my collection with swatches. When Beauty Bay started stocking Makeup Geek eyeshadows back in the late months of last year it was relief to all of us in the UK as we can now order them and not have to pay the shipping price from the US.

The three types of shadows I own from Makeup Geek are the original eyeshadows which have a matte, shimmery or metallic finish (£4.95). Foiled eyeshadows which have an intense, opaque and metallic finish (£7.95). Duochrome eyeshadows which are two toned pigmented eyeshadows (£4.95).

What started off as a little collection of 4 has spiralled out of control (in a good way I promise) into 33 little pans of heaven. I store mine in a large Z palette displayed above however I do have 6 extra eyeshadows that are not in the picture above as they are stored in a separate Z palette. What I love about Makeup Geek eyeshadows is that they are more affordable than higher end eyeshadows but there is certainly no compromise on quality. I am terrible at describing colours so the descriptions of the shades below are from Makeup Geek.

    GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment

The mask that saved my skin. I'm pretty sure I could just leave this blog post at that because that's exactly what it is! But I have too much to say about this little pot of heaven to leave it at that.

I'll start by saying my skin is not that bad. I have between normal and combination skin so I have large pores around my nose and I do have blackheads and the ocassional breakouts on my chin area but the rest of my skin is clear. However, around September I had a breakout on my chin which did not budge for months is was red and congested so it was really getting me down. I'd heard SO many good things about this mask especially from youtubers such as Katy from Lustrelux and Jaclyn Hill. But the price? Well. I didnt want to pay £35 for a face mask, I can justify spending £35 on a foundation or a palette but a face mask? I was reluctant. But I bit the bullet and thought to myself 'you know what Becca you should treat yourself' (as if I don't enough already). I ordered it from feelunique.com because the mask had money off it and I had a discount code as well which made purchasing it so much easier.

The packaging is to die for! When you open the box there's a little information booklet which says 'hello sexy'..oh GlamGlow you big smoothie. The information booklet lists all the ingredients in the mask and how they work (I won't go into all the technical stuff). So, obviously I took my makeup off straight away as I was so excited to try it regardless of the fact is was 2pm, when new products arrive you gotta do what you gotta do. I applied it just to my T zone and at first when applied to the skin it tingles but this goes away after 2 minutes or so. As the product dries (this is the best and most disgusting part) you can see little dots in the mask which is where the ingredients in the mask are drawing all the bacteria, oil and dirt out of the skin and storing it in the mask ready to be washed off. It's so fascinating to see the mask working! After leaving the mask on an hour or so I rinsed it off with warm water and the first thing I noticed was how the large pores around my nose were smaller! After using the mask twice a week for 3 weeks I have seen a big improvement in my skin, my pores are smaller and my breakout has near enough gone! Even my mum noticed how much my skin has cleared up. Overall, this mask is worth every single penny and I will definitely be repurchasing it as soon as it runs out.

Let me know what your favourite face masks are or if you've tried any of the GlamGlow products in the comments! See you soon!

Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipsticks

Happy Friday! I am quite fortunate enough to have Fridays off and usually Thursdays and Fridays are my no makeup days (the skins gotta breathe), however with all the new makeup I've purchased recently I couldn't let a day of creativity go to waste! Last week I purchased two of the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipsticks and today is the day that I've put it to the test!

The two shades I purchased were Iced Mocha and Cher. Whilst having a long gander through the Gerard Cosmetics instagram page it took a long time to pick the two shades I wanted to purchase (obviously I wanted more but I needed to maintain some type of self control) so after ordering the two shades from Beauty Bay naturally I was refreshing my order tracking every hour until they arrived.

First things first, packaging. Black? Gold? LOVE IT. And the frosted tubes are just gorgeous! Iced Mocha is a brown toned shade with a bit of a cool undertone and Cher is a beautiful mauve shade which I LOVE.

Cher is the shade which I've tried and tested all day today and I'm impressed! I used MAC whirl lipliner first to give me an outline and then the liquid lipstick just glided on so easily! It dried quickly but it did feel a bit sticky in the corners of my lips but this soon went and the lipstick was completely matte. 8 hours later the lipstick is still in place, it has slightly come away on the inside of my lips but that will happen with any lipsticks due to eating and drinking throughout the day. In terms of dryness all matte lipsticks and liquid lipsticks will be drying but I always apply a lipbalm or lip conditioner (the MAC lip conditioner is AMAZING) before I do my makeup to give it time to soak in before I apply any lip product. So because I did this the liquid lipstick doesn't feel too uncomfortable or dry and there's no crumbling either.

I am impressed by these liquid lipsticks and will definitely be purchasing some more shades in the near future! Have you tried these liquid lipsticks? Or what are your favourite liquid lipsticks? Let me know in the comments! See you soon!

    Morphe 35O Palette

If there's one thing that I love it's warm brown eyeshadows! There's just something that I love about a nice rich orange toned transition colour and deep chocolate browns paired together so when this palette was released back in autumn I had to have it (and Jaclyn Hill uses it and she is the queen of a warm toned eyeshadows). But let me just say this, it was not easy to get a hold of! It was sold out everywhere and everytime it came back in stock it sold out so quickly and I just wasn't fast enough to get one. So when my friend tagged me in an instagram post saying that it was back in stock on the Morphe website let me tell you I have NEVER ordered an item so fast in my entire life (makeup makes us crazy). BUT I GOT ONE! And it was so worth the 2 minute thumb workout.

Delivery was so fast considering I'd ordered it from America and it came within about a week or so and I was so giddy when it came, it felt like christmas in one delivery. The palette consists of 35 buttery eyeshadows, containing both matte and shimmery eyeshadows. There are cream colours, oranges, warm browns, medium browns, champagne colours and deep browns as well. If you love warm browns then you need this palette! The shadows are incredibly pigmented however there is a fair amount of fall out but who cares we all know that with pigment comes fall out. Whenever I know I'll be doing a warm brown eyeshadow look I just grab this palette and that's all I need!

Let me know if you have this palette or any of the other Morphe palettes and what you think to them in the comments below! See you soon!

    January Favourites

One more week and our January blues will be over! And I'm glad it's flown by but how shocking to think that one twelfth of 2016 has gone already! So since it's near enough the end of the month, here is a slightly early January favourites post! Although because of my absence over the past 2 months or so there have been so many favourites however I couldn't include them all so I narrowed it down to just a few staple products which I have been in love with recently.

My first favourite is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in the shade Global Glow. If I had to pick my top 5 favourite makeup products there would definitely be a highlighter included. I love the look of dewy skin and not having glowing cheekbones makes me feel completely naked. It may come as a surprise but I don't actually own the shade Soft&Gentle I know a lot of people love it but there's just something about it which is too pink for me and I just don't like the look of it on myself, I tend to favour more champagne/golden tones in a highlighter so when my boyfriend got me this as a Christmas present I knew it was going to be the start of a beautiful friendship. Because this highlighter is quite dark and bronzey I think it works best by layering it over my Mary-Loumanizer highlighter with a MAC 188 brush and then blending it down into the bronzer on my cheeks as well, I also dust it on the sides of my forehead just above my eyebrows to add a bit of a glow there as well as this highlighter isn't as intense as the Mary-Loumanizer.

Next up is the Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Setting Powder. I purchased this from the House of Fraser website on Black Friday so I was lucky enough to get a bit of money off as it was my first time trying it. I had seen youtubers and makeup artists on instagram and snapchat use this so much and I'd heard nothing but good things about it so I wanted to try it myself. I will never purchase another loose powder ever again except this one, it is like silk on my skin! I apply it using the Real Techniques Setting Brush to set my concealer underneath my eyes and also any oily areas such as my forehead and at the sides of my nose and then i'm done for the day! My under eyes don't look cakey or blotchy they just look smooth and flawless. I personally wouldn't use this as a powder for all over my face as I don't really like a matte finish I prefer to look dewy on the other areas which I don't set with this powder, but if you're a fan of the matte look then go for it!

The NYX Jumbo Pencil in the shade Milk is another product which is talked about on youtube and instagram and as I mentioned in my last post about visiting the Clothes Show this was definitely on my mental shopping list whilst I was at the NYX stand and when I spotted the jumbo pencils my eyes frantically scanned the whole rack for the Milk shade and luckily enough I got one! I've been using this to highlight my brow bone starting off with just a splodge of white underneath my eyebrows, then using a small concealer brush to guide it right underneath my eyebrows and then blending it into my eyeshadow primer with a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush.

Last but not least is the MAC Prep+Prime Highlighter Pen in the shade Lightboost. When it comes to contour and highlighting I prefer to use a cream or liquid to highlight the high points of my face and using a powder to contour. I love this product purely because of the colour and how easily it blends out, the colour is yellow toned which is what favours the shade of foundation I wear. I apply it under the eyes, in the centre of my forehead, down the centre of my nose and a small amount on my chin and then blend it all out with a damp Beauty Blender.

Let me know what your favourite products are this month and if you've used any of my favourites and let me know what you think of them in the comments. See you soon!

    Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

Hello loves! Apologies for the few months of absence, Christmas was extremely busy and spare time was none existent! Work and college took over but now that the new year is here I'm back and feeling better than ever. Over the time that I've had away from my blog I've discovered many different brands for makeup and brushes and all that good stuff! However, I think my favourite brand over the past couple of months is definitely Makeup Geek. I first heard about these eyeshadows through youtubers and when I saw that Beauty Bay started selling the single eyeshadows online I knew it was a sign that I had to get my hands on them!

So I first purchased about 6 eyeshadow pans to begin with and then I became OBSESSED and I couldn't stop buying them. They're so pigmented and creamy and the best part is that they're super affordable! I've been storing them in my Z Palette which is so easy because the Makeup Geek eyeshadows are already magnetic so you can just pop them right in. Not all the eyeshadows in the picture above are Makeup Geek but the majority are! (I can't wait to fill a full palette!). My favourite shades are currently Peach Smoothie, Bitten, Brown Sugar and Havoc.

I find myself reaching for these eyeshadows every single day (my other eyeshadows are definitely feeling slightly unloved) I'm extremely glad I found this brand and I will 100 percent be purchasing more in the near future.

Let me know what your favourite new discoveries have been these past few months and why you love them! See you soon!

    Tenth Blog Post

Double figures! This is my tenth blog post so to make it all about the big 1 0 I thought my tenth blog post should be about my ten favourite makeup products! It was really really hard to narrow my favourites down to just ten and unfortunately I have more than ten favourite products but obviously there are some which just didn't make the cut! So, without any more rambling on here are my top ten favourite makeup products.

    1. Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm Cosmetics. If you've read my August Favourites blog post you'll know all about why I love this highlighter, but if you didn't then I'll explain it all again. If you're like me and you are all about the strong highlight game then you will love this! Out of all the highlighters I've used this is the most intense one, I first bought this product in December and it's now September and I've been using it pretty much everyday and it barely even looks used! A little bit goes a long way with this product and it blends beautifully. I apply it to the tops of my cheekbones, tip of my nose and on my cupids bow and any left over on my brush goes in the centre of my forehead (gotta get that glow on). I find powder highlighters work best for me than cream or liquid highlighters because I do set my foundation with powder so cream and liquid products don't blend on top of my powder very well (or at all for that matter) so I'm glad that this is a powder product as it applies so much easier. I have a medium skin tone when I've fake tanned which is pretty much all the time so the champagne colour of this highlighter is the perfect shade.

    2. Laguna Bronzer from NARS. Again if you read my July Favourites post you will know all about my feels for this product but reading about it twice never hurt nobody. I used to love Hoola bronzer from Benefit and I had it for a long time (at one point I even used it as a powder to set my foundation but we can forget about that time in my life) and I loved it but recently when I've been going on nights out and I'm more fake tanned than on a day to day basis so the Hoola bronzer just wasn't dark enough and it started to look a bit grey (not chic). I'd heard great things about this bronzer and I loved that it has a red undertone so it would be perfect for those times when my skin is darker because of my fake tan. And then that was it! I was hooked! And I've been hooked ever since. I haven't used any other bronzer because I love this one so much! The product has gold flecks in it but when you apply it to the skin personally I can't see any shimmer which also makes it a perfect product for contouring. It is a deep colour bronzer so I tend to steer away from it on my pale days but the rest of the time I can't get enough. I use it to contour my cheekbones and then blend it up towards my temples and then under my jawline as well. If you're looking for a new bronzer, this one is amazing, I've only just hit pan on it and I've been using it nearly everyday for about two months maybe? It's a little pricey but personally I think it's worth every single penny.

    3. MAC Fluidline Gel Liner in Blacktrack. I only used to wear eyeliner when I went on a night out because I couldn't really be bothered with the effort that it took to get a straight line across my lashline however, I think it was because I was using the wrong products. I found that liquid liners were too messy for me and I also found that eyeliner pens were too thick for me to work with so I thought enough is enough! I had to invest in a gel liner and a thin brush so I could get this liner game going! I bought this eyeliner along with the MAC 210 Eyeliner Brush and oh how much easier this made my life! Because the brush is so thin I don't have to worry about drawing my line too thick and I can get a good sharp point on my wing as well but as good as the brush is the eyeliner itself is what wowed me. It's quite creamy so it's really easy to apply and it sets with kind of a semi matte finish which I love because I didn't like the glossy look which other eyeliners gave me. The product is long wearing and best of all doesn't transfer onto my eyelids! All these reasons are why I've been wearing eyeliner more and more because I find it so much easier! Not everyone prefers a gel eyeliner and a brush but it works perfectly for me and has made doing my eyeliner much more easier!

    4. Hello Flawless Custom Powder Cover-up from Benefit. Finding the right powder in the right shade was the biggest struggle for me. Most powders I'd used were too chalky, too red toned, too cakey or just made my face look flat! It was a disaster but I am a big fan of Benefit products so I thought I'd try it, I had no hopes of it being amazing because of the disappointment I'd had from other powders but I was pleasantly surprised. I have the shade Honey and it's kind of got a yellow undertone which is great because it means that my face will match my fake tan. It gives a demi matte finish so my skin still actually looks like skin (?) and it makes my foundation look flawless. The only downside to this product is that it doesn't last very long, it's only 1 or two months after buying it when I find my self getting to the last little bit and need to purchase another. But it's still one of my top ten favourite makeup products because it's the perfect shade, texture and finish for my skin so I don't mind going out and buying it more often than I'd like to.

    5. Naked Basics Palette from Urban Decay this is in my favourites because it is my most used palette. It has 6 eyeshadows (Venus, Foxy, Walk of Shame, Naked 2, Faint and Crave) which are all matte except for Venus. I love this palette because of its wearable shades and how you can create an eye makeup look using every single eyeshadow in the palette which is something you can't do with many palettes! I use the shade Foxy everyday to set my eyeshadow primer so that all my eyeshadows blend better as trying to blend powder into a liquid eyeshadow primer is very difficult as you can imagine. Venus is lovely for a brow bone and inner corner highlight and I tend to use Walk of Shame on the inner part of my lid, Naked 2 as a transition colour in my crease, Faint on the outer section of my lid and blended on my bottom lashline and Crave in my outer corner. Despite the eyeshadows being matte they are really creamy and blend like a dream!

    6. Peppermint Lipbalm from EOS. I've heard people rave about EOS lipbalms and I've heard people who don't like them and as a lipbalm on its own I personally think it's pretty average. BUT what I love about these lipbalms is that because they are quite waxy they don't give off much product when you apply it. This is why these lipbalms are absolutely perfect to put on before applying lipstick! Although I love a matte lipstick they can be quite drying but no one wants a big thick gloopy layer of lipbalm on just before applying lipstick! So what I tend to do is just sweep my EOS lipbalm over my lips once and then apply my lipstick. So matte lipsticks are no longer drying and I don't have to waste time waiting for a thicker lipbalm to soak in! Problem solved.

    7. Stay Don't Stray from Benefit. Until about 6 months ago I never bothered with eyeshadow primers. The ones I had used just didn't do anything for me, if anything they made it harder for me to blend my eyeshadow and so I abandoned ship. However, last christmas I treated myself to one of the Benefit christmas boxes which contained 4 eyeshadows, a minature They're Real mascara and a sample size of the Stay Don't Stray eyeshadow primer so I thought I'd give it a try! This primer has a concealer in it as well which means that it adds coverage so that I can start my eyeshadow with an even base. I set it with the Foxy eyeshadow from my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette so my eyeshadows blend easier. The primer makes my eyeshadow last longer and I've noticed that when I wear this eyeshadow primer my eye makeup stays put for longer and doesnt move around, and because I loved it so much I bought the full sized one!

    8. Modesty Lipstick from MAC. This is one my favourite lipsticks. It's a creme sheen lipstick so it's super moisturising and the colour is perfect for everyday. It can be so hard to find a lipstick that goes with most makeup looks and lasts long enough to wear everyday. The colour is kind of a dark nude with a hint of pink, a lot of people (including me) describe it as a 'your lips but better' colour. I love owning this lipstick because I know that I always have it to fall back on if I'm being indecisive about which lipstick to wear.

    9. Rimmel London 1000 Kisses Lipliner in Tiramisu. This lipliner is in my favourites because it exactly matches my MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick and it took me so long to find a good matching lip liner for this lipstick! However, it's also really pigmented as well so it's great to wear on its own all over the lips. The lipliner lasts all day and I always find that I never have to top it up. Although the lipstick is really pigmented and a great colour if worn alone it can be a little drying.

    10. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade if you know me personally or you've read my Lazy Day Makeup post you will know how much I love this product. This is the only product in my makeup routine that I am not willing to change. The dipbrow is waterproof, smudge proof and basically bulletproof! The formula is creamy and glides on like a dream. I have been using this since December and 8 months later I'm only about two thirds of the way through my pot. I love love love this product so much because of how easy it is to apply and how long it lasts. If you're all about the strong brow - get this and you will not be disappointed!

    MAC Lipstick Collection

There's only one rule when it comes to MAC lipsticks and it's that you can never have too many! Whilst I dream of owning, well let's face it ALL OF THEM! I'm lucky enough to have my own little collection of my 6 holygrail lipsticks.

There are so many things RIGHT about MAC lipsticks. To start with they're long lasting and there are so many shades to choose from! (And I don't know if this is just me but I think they smell like Cadburys Mini Eggs!) No matter what makeup look you choose - there is always a beautiful MAC lipstick to pair with it!

I have six MAC lipsticks all together but these first four are my nude colours! Going from left to right on the swatch photo above the shades are Velvet Teddy, Hue, Modesty and Creme Cup.

Velvet Teddy is a matte lipstick, very long wearing and incredibly pigmented. It's more of a brown nude than a pink nude and it is definitely one of my favourites - it makes me feel very 90s!
Hue is the lipstick which I have used the most out of my collection. It's a glaze lipstick and although its not as pigmented as the other lipsticks, it's my go-to lipstick for a night out and looks amazing with a nude lipliner and a smokey eye!
Modesty is a cremesheen lipstick and the only way I can describe the colour of this lipstick is kind of a "your lips but better" if that makes any sense? It's definitely a shade that can be used with any makeup which is why I use it for my everyday lipstick and I'm so glad I came across this because I know I always have this trusty shade to fall back on! The cremesheen lipsticks are really moisturising as well and they are really long wearing considering how moisturising they are!
Last but not least of my nude lipsticks is Creme Cup! Creme Cup was the first ever lipstick I bought from MAC so this was the one that got me hooked! It's a cremesheen again so its moisturising. This is more of a pink shade but I'd include it more into my nude collection than my colours. I usually wear this lipstick with a neutral eye and pop my Dior Collagen Activ Lip Maximiser over the top.

The last two shades of my lipstick collection are ones which I don't tend to reach for as much as my nude lipsticks.
The first shade on the left is Relentlessly Red. It's a retro matte lipstick and I fell in love with it as soon as I swatched it in the shop! I actually went in search of a red lipstick but this one is more of a pinky red which I love because it's so bright!
The other shade is Rebel which is a perfect colour to buy if you want to start getting into dark lipsticks but you're a bit weary! I purchased this a year ago and it took me a while to use it for the first time because I didn't know what makeup look would go best with it but now that I've got that sorted a strong contour and neutral eye is what I love to use with this lipstick. I am so excited for autumn to come around again because you will not be able to get this lipstick off my face!

    Fake Tan Favourites

We're coming to the end of August now and it appears that my iBiza tan is slowly losing it's soul. Thankfully fake tan exists in all kinds of forms and we can take advantage of these glorious products in order to keep us glowing through till next summer.

In all honesty, I'm a bit of a fake tan junkie and it took me a LONG time to find fake tan that suited me and lasted as long as I wanted it to. My first fake tan experience was not great but I was 13 and wanted to look a little bit more sunkissed in P.E but instead of looking sunkissed I ended up looking a colour somewhere between a Wotsit and red leicester cheese - not chic. But since then I've been trying different brands of fake tan, different formulas of tan and 5 years later I think I've got the hang of fake tanning and I'd like to share with you some of my favourites!

    ST TROPEZ MOUSSE
St Tropez Mousse is definitely one of my favourite fake tans, I used this tan for at least 3 years and still use it from time to time now. Because the product is a mousse it glides on to the skin perfectly and I love how the colour of it isn't that dirty greenish colour. I apply it with the St Tropez tanning mitt and work from my feet up to my neck, I usually have to apply two coats to get the desired colour I want but the second layer applies over the first layer really nicely and doesn't go patchy which is always a bonus. I don't fake tan my face as most days I'm wearing a full coverage foundation so I don't feel the need to however, I always make sure that the colour of my foundation matches my fake tan.

    GARNIER GRADUAL TAN
If you prefer a gradual tan I would definitely recommend the Garnier Gradual tan, the shade I use is dark but they do a light shade also if you prefer a subtle glow rather than a deep tan. This is the only tan that I have found that doesnt make my knuckles and wrists 5 shades darker than the rest of my body, whenever I use it I'm so impressed that the colour doesn't clump into my knuckles and inbetween my fingers like other fake tans do. Another benefit of this fake tan is that not only is it super moisturising but it smells like apricots! Although I do think the smell does wear off quite quickly and you do soon smell like biscuits. The colour for me is a little bit too on the orange side as personally I prefer a more olive undertone in my fake tan but as a cheaper alternative to the rest of these fake tans - this ones a winner.

    XEN TAN DARK LOTION
Okay so this is the real deal, Xen Tan Dark Lotion is the ultimate fake tan for me. I cannot rave about this product enough from the colour to the smell, everything about this fake tan is fabulous. If like me you prefer a fake tan with an olive undertone then this is the product for you, because it's a lotion its really moisturising but it has a dark guide colour so that you know where you've missed out! One coat is all I need for the colour that I want and again I do apply it with the St Tropez tanning mitt working from feet up to my neck. The fake tan smells like cherry almonds and everytime I use it I get a craving for cherry bakewells! (Mr Kipling, come through), if you don't like this smell Xen Tan also do a similar tan called Moroccan Tan which smells like coconuts (really reminds me of being on holiday!). This fake tan never fails to disappoint me, I tend to fake tan on a night time before I go to sleep and when I wake up in the morning I'm instantly in a good mood because of the wonderful results I have from this product.

Let me know what your favourite fake tan product is and why you love it in the comments! See you soon!

    July Favourites

July is drawing to an end! Let's hope that August brings us some sunshine in the UK! The past couple of weeks of rain are starting to make me feel like summer is coming to a close, and honestly I'm not ready for summer to be over yet! However, despite the drizzle, there have been a few perks for me this month and they come in the glorious form of makeup products! So here are a few products which I have been obsessed with this July!

My first July favourite is the NARS Bronzer in the shade Laguna. We're in the middle of summer and I don't know about you guys but for me this month it's all about that bronzed glow! In the past I have shied away from any bronzers which aren't matte (I was a Benefit Hoola addict for 3 years) however, whilst flicking through Instagram and Youtube I realised how many people love this bronzer and I was dying to get my hands on it! I was kind of put off by the description as it was described to have a golden shimmer in it, but nevertheless I took the plunge and I certainly have not regretted it! For me, the bronzer isn't shimmery at all when applied, it looks matte but I can definitely see the gold flecks in the product itself. It blends easily and I've been using it every day since it was delivered to me (I think my other bronzers are feeling kind of neglected). I use the bronzer to sculpt out my cheekbones and then blend it into my temples to give my face structure and definition. All in all this is a beautiful product, and lets be honest the packaging of NARS products is just as wonderful as what's inside as well!

My second favourite product of the month is the MAC Burgundy Times Nine Palette. Purchasing this palette for me was so exciting as usually I tend to wear very neutral coloured eyeshadows (I'm a sucker for a good Urban Decay Naked palette) but as much as I love the nude eyes - we all need a bit of colour in our lives! The palette contains 9 eyeshadow colours (they aren't full sized ones but they're a good size anyway!) which have a few bronze/brown shades and then some purple/burgundy shades as well. Going from left to right (swatch picture above) the shades are Honey Lust, Poppyseed, Quarry, Antiqued, Embark, #Noir, Haux, Star Violet and Sketch. I didn't know where to begin with all these shades to play with! The shades which I have been using the most in this palette are Antiqued and Embark (these two shades look amazing next to each other for a bronzed smokey eye) but I think my favourite shades are Star Violet and Sketch blended out with Quarry. Because I have green eyes the purple shades (especially Sketch!) really make my eye colour pop! I've been using this palette so much since I bought it and I would 100% recommend it to anyone thinking about purchasing it as you won't be disappointed.

Last but not least is my third favourite makeup product of the month which is the Dior Addict Lip Maximiser Collagen Activ. Personally, I am not a lipgloss person. I've never really liked how sticky lipglosses feel on my lips and plus when you've got long hair like mine lipgloss suddenly becomes a hair magnet and there is nothing more frustrating than having hair attached to your face! (Long haired girls do you feel my pain?) however, I purchased this as I heard it was a good treatment for the lips as well as a lip maximiser! And thank the Dior God's because I have finally found a non-sticky, non-gloopy and moisturising lipgloss! THANK YOU DIOR! I often find myself reaching for this after I've applied a nude pink lipliner all over my lips and I love the neutral look the combination has when I have a smokey eye! Or even a neutral eye! I've never really used lip maximisers because I've never come across one that works for me! Eventually I gave up and accepted that I must simply repel lip maximisers, but this is a miracle product and gives me a natural plump whilst moisturising too which is why it's one of my favourite products for this month!

So those are my favourite products for July! Let me know in the comments what your favourite beauty or makeup products are this month or if you've used any of the products I chose and what you thought of them! See you soon!

    Skincare Routine

We all love to think we've had a skincare routine for years, but for me I'd say that until a year and a half ago my skincare routine was rather part time! But now I can't even think about beginning my day or going to sleep without my rituals.

My morning skincare routine is slightly different to my night one, only because I prefer a richer moisturiser for my face whilst I sleep.

I start my morning by using the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, I purchased this about 3 months ago so it is fairly new to my skincare routine but since using it twice daily I have noticed a big improvement in the condition of my skin! The smell is fresh and clean so it's great for waking you up in the morning (yes, even on Mondays!) and because it is a cream cleanser my skin feels well moisturised afterwards as well!

After cleansing I always reach for my Clinique Clarifying Lotion (I use number 2 for dry/combination skin). I found out about this product a few years ago by sneaking it off my mum and I've been in love with it ever since! It really does take away all the dirt and cleanser residue off my face and I never feel like my skin is properly clean until I've used it (honestly you'd be surprised what this product gets out of your skin when you think it's clean! Gross - but trust me on this one).

When my skin is squeaky clean I use Benefit 'It's Potent' Eye Cream. I never really thought that using an eye cream would make a difference however a year ago I realised that with all the eyeshadow brushes I shove into my sockets maybe I should give the skin around my eyes a little TLC too! This eye cream has cocoa butter in it so it's super moisturising however the best thing about it is that the product absorbs quickly into the skin - perfect for someone like me who likes to get their face on and attack the day with full force! By the time I come round to putting my makeup on the eyecream has soaked into my skin and doesn't interfere with the way my makeup sets around my eyes, love it!

I then use my Lush Skin Drink moisturiser (I used to use Skin's Shangri La which was beautiful but a little too rich for under my makeup) I love how Lush products are made from fresh ingredients - it makes me feel so much better knowing that what I'm using on my skin is made from natural products!
So that pretty much concludes my morning skincare routine so I'll move on to my nightime routine...

My nightime skincare routine isn't that much different to my morning routine, the only difference being is that instead of using my Skindrink moisturiser I use Bio-oil instead. So after I've taken my makeup off with the Liz Earle Cleanse&Polish I use Bio-oil on my skin before I sleep because it's richer than a cream so when I wake up in the morning my skin feels so silky and I know that the oil has been working it's magic whilst I've been catching my Z's. Since using Bio-oil I've noticed that my skintone has become a lot more even and although I don't use Bio-oil for scarring or stretch marks which is its primary purpose, I LOVE it for moisturising my face at night!

Those are the products I use on my face every single day. However, two or three times a week I do like to use an exfoliator to get rid of any dead skin cells to keep my skin in tip-top shape! My favourite exfoliator currently is the Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream which is heavenly! Also, if my skin is having a bit of a bad day and needs a little pick me up I always reach for a face mask! I've been loving the Quick Fix Facial Purifying Charcoal Mask recently! I usually just apply it to my T-zone as this is my problem area and leave it to set before washing it off.

SO! That finally concludes my skincare routine, I'll be sure to update you if I stumble upon any miracle products! Let me know in the comments what your favourite skincare products are! See you soon!

    My First Blog Post

Good afternoon! Here I am writing my first blog post - something I never thought I'd be doing a year ago! Because it's my first post I thought I'd tell you a little bit about myself and what you can expect from this blog!

First of all, as you've probably guessed my name is Rebecca, I live in the incredibly drizzly United Kingdom and I am 18 years old. I am a makeup hoader/addict/enthusiast whatever you want to call it and I am an aspiring makeup artist and soon I shall be studying to become a fully qualified makeup artist (exciting!)

When I'm not messing with makeup or got my face in the pages of my latest read I'm either working, spending time with family and friends and I'm also quite partial to a night out with my girls! (A hobby which if I say so myself I excell at).

So, I think that I've droned on about myself enough now so I'll let you know why I started this blog and what you can expect to be reading. Okay so, I started this blog for a few reasons one of them is that this summer I have had A LOT of spare time on my hands due to finishing my last year of sixth form and I thought what better way to keep myself busy than to let my creative juices flow and set up and write on my own blog. The second reason I started this blog is my passion for anything makeup or beauty related! I love talking about makeup and beauty, I love trying new products and I love sharing my favourite products with anyone and everyone who will listen!

Aside from my blog you can find me on instagram, twitter and pinterest for other updates on what's going on. See you soon!
