Look Fantastic November Sparkle Beauty Box

"Dream big, sparkle more, shine bright" what a lovely message to see when you open a beauty box. I've seen so many different types of beauty boxes and I've never really been drawn to any of them. A few weeks ago I didn't even know that Look Fantastic existed until I saw their advert for the Beauty Calendar and that's when I discovered these boxes. 

I liked how much attention they put into each box, theres a theme and the products inside go with the theme of the box. With each box you also get an Elle magazine which I think is such a nice gesture, for me I love sitting down with a magazine and a cup of tea but the problem is actually going out and getting one. So having a magazine each month is a nice touch - perfect for winter!

It also comes with a booklet with information about each product you receive and how to use it which is so helpful!

So after much research and a little sneak peak into the previous boxes this year and seeing what amazing brands they had in the boxes I took a look at the subscriptions they offered.

After a few glasses of pinot I'd fully convinced myself that I need a gift from me to me at the beginning of each month so I decided to go with the 12 month subscription which is £11.25 each month which is amazing considering how many products you get and the quality. Here's what's in this months box!

L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil

This product is one that I keep seeing everywhere so I'm so excited to try this! (We all know how much I love my hair oils!) It's described as lightweight hair treatment infused with avocado and grape seed oil to nourish the hair and provide antioxidant protection against environmental aggressors. This product will be perfect for the colder months to bring shine back into our hair and protect it against this weather!

Monu Recovery Balm

This is a brand that I've never heard of before so I'll definitely be giving this a go. It's packed with so many natural ingredients which are great for the skin such as Rose Essential Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Peptides and Blackcurrant Seed Oil. This balm is described as a 'winter saviour' that is supposed to reduce redness and soothe irritation as well as leaving skin balanced and hydrated.

Look Good Feel Better Angled Blending Brush

I've never tried these brushes before but I've always looked at them and thought that they look like good quality brushes and I was right this is a good quality brush, the bristles feel so fluffy! I don't get on with angled blending brushes but I'm sure I'll find a use for this. These brushes are allergy free and environmentally friendly!

Model Co Blush Cheek Powder in Peach Bellini

I've never tried Model Co products until today so I was excited to try this today, and I love it! I tend to steer clear from blushers I only really like peach/apricot tones so the fact that this was a peachy blush made me so happy. It's got a bit of shimmer to it but barely noticeable on the skin, the product picks up so well it's very pigmented so you don't need a lot!

Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray

This is another interesting product because it's a spray gel, at first I was like hold on what does that mean. So I checked the booklet and its for volume and lift in your hair JUST WHAT I NEED. Having long thick hair means that my hair is very heavy and any curls or volume I put in can drop within an hour. I'm curious to see how this hold my hair in place! This product uses Cushion Particle Technology to lift hair from the roots.

Bloom and Blossom Revitalising Foot and Leg Spray

Last but not least is this little guy. To be honest i've never heard of anything as a foot and leg spray but now that I've read what it's for it seems like something I need in my life. This product is said to be ideal for aching limbs and the extracts in it alleviate water tension and revitalise tired legs. For anyone who works in retail (aka me) I feel like this would be a good product. This will also come in handy at 3am when I've been in heels for hours when I go out over christmas and my feet can't take another step. I'm so curious to see how this works for me!

Tony Moly Sheet Mask Review

A good while ago I was flicking through Bloglovin and noticed how popular Korean Skincare was! So obviously I needed to try some for myself! The Tony Moly I'm Real sheet masks stuck out to me and I found out you could get all 11 types in a bundle from amazon - perfect!

The bundle comes with 11 types of sheet mask; tea tree, lemon, tomato, pomegranate, avocado, rice, makgeoli, red wine, seaweed, broccoli and aloe. I was so so excited when these came in the post and I set out to use one sheet mask per week, but then it occured to me that if Korean women use one every night to get their glowing complexion - then that's what I shall do.

My first impressions of the mask was that they were beautiful! The sheet was soft, saturated with product and the packets were easy to open. So here's what I thought of each mask!

Broccoli (Vitality)

This mask is for providing vitalizing energy to tired skin. This was the first mask I tried and definitely my favourite out of the bundle. It definitely does not smell like broccoli and doesn't have a potent scent. This mask was so soothing on my skin and afterwards my skin was plumper and looked more healthier and radiant. I felt like my skin had just drank a super smoothie!

Avocado (Nutrition)

This mask makes dull skin look radiant and glowing. As soon as I took this mask out the packet I knew it was a moisturising one because the serum which it was saturated with was so rich in moisture and I was right it was definitely very moisturising! This mask also doesn't have a potent smell. 

Red Wine (Pore Care)

This mask tightens uneven skin with large pores. I have larger pores around my nose so I was excited to see how this mask worked for me, I wasn't expecting miracles because you can't use a mask once and expect to be practically poreless. I didn't see a difference in the size of my pores afterwards however, my skin definitely did look fresher!

Aloe (Moisturising)

This mask moisturises dry skin. I used this mask after my GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment which is a charcoal mask so it extracts all the nasties out of my skin. So the aloe mask was perfect after this to put moisture back into my skin. This mask was so so moisturising and didn't have a strong smell. The aloe mask was also one of my favourites out of the selection. 

Lemon (Brightening)

This mask had a light citrus smell but it wasn't too potent. This mask wasn't my favourite I found that it was a lot drier than the rest of the masks. 

Rice (Clear Skin)

This mask was almost on par with the broccoli mask. I didn't think that this one would phase me because rice? What? But I absolutely loved it! It was so soothing and the serum felt absolutely amazing on the skin! 

Tomato (Radiance)

If this mask smelt of tomatoes I would instantly be put off - but it didn't! It was a beautiful mask which was very soothing and made my skin look very healthy! Definitely another favourite in the bundle. 

Makegeolli (Skin Purifying)

This mask was another favourite, I don't actually know what Makegeolli is but whatever it is, it did me some good! This mask was so gorgeous it was very nourishing.

Seaweed (Skin Purifying)

This mask was extremely refreshing, it was like a pick-me-up for my skin. This mask didn't have a strong smell either. 

Pomegranate (Elasticity) 

I actually took this mask away with me and used it at the end of the week. It was an absolute blessing, all week of the sun on my face, sea water and chlorine can't have done my skin any favours so using this mask for half an hour was amazing! Afterwards I felt so refreshed and my skin felt so much healthier. 

Tea tree (Skin Soothing)

This is another mask that I took away with me however, I didn't actually try it so this review is from my boyfriend! He thought this mask was refreshing and wet (I think he means there was a lot of serum in the mask) and he thought he looked super scary. 

Overall, I absolutely love these sheet masks. They're saturated with serum and they feel so soothing on the skin. Everytime I used a mask my skin just thanked me for it and now that I've used them all I just had to order some more because I don't think I can live without them! 

I'm definitely intrigued to try different brands of sheet masks and I really want to try some more Korean skincare too!

Skincare Routine

We all love to think we've had a skincare routine for years, but for me I'd say that until a year and a half ago my skincare routine was rather part time! But now I can't even think about beginning my day or going to sleep without my rituals.

My morning skincare routine is slightly different to my night one, only because I prefer a richer moisturiser for my face whilst I sleep.

 I start my morning by using the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, I purchased this about 3 months ago so it is fairly new to my skincare routine but since using it twice daily I have noticed a big improvement in the condition of my skin! The smell is fresh and clean so it's great for waking you up in the morning (yes, even on Mondays!) and because it is a cream cleanser my skin feels well moisturised afterwards as well!

After cleansing I always reach for my Clinique Clarifying Lotion (I use number 2 for dry/combination skin). I found out about this product a few years ago by sneaking it off my mum and I've been in love with it ever since! It really does take away all the dirt and cleanser residue off my face and I never feel like my skin is properly clean until I've used it (honestly you'd be surprised what this product gets out of your skin when you think it's clean! Gross - but trust me on this one).

When my skin is squeaky clean I use Benefit 'It's Potent' Eye Cream. I never really thought that using an eye cream would make a difference however a year ago I realised that with all the eyeshadow brushes I shove into my sockets maybe I should give the skin around my eyes a little TLC too! This eye cream has cocoa butter in it so it's super moisturising however the best thing about it is that the product absorbs quickly into the skin - perfect for someone like me who likes to get their face on and attack the day with full force! By the time I come round to putting my makeup on the eyecream has soaked into my skin and doesn't interfere with the way my makeup sets around my eyes, love it!

 I then use my Lush Skin Drink moisturiser (I used to use Skin's Shangri La which was beautiful but a little too rich for under my makeup) I love how Lush products are made from fresh ingredients - it makes me feel so much better knowing that what I'm using on my skin is made from natural products! 

So that pretty much concludes my morning skincare routine so I'll move on to my nightime routine...

My nightime skincare routine isn't that much different to my morning routine, the only difference being is that instead of using my Skindrink moisturiser I use Bio-oil instead. So after I've taken my makeup off with the Liz Earle Cleanse&Polish I use Bio-oil on my skin before I sleep because it's richer than a cream so when I wake up in the morning my skin feels so silky and I know that the oil has been working it's magic whilst I've been catching my Z's. Since using Bio-oil I've noticed that my skintone has become a lot more even and although I don't use Bio-oil for scarring or stretch marks which is its primary purpose, I LOVE it for moisturising my face at night! 

Those are the products I use on my face every single day. However, two or three times a week I do like to use an exfoliator to get rid of any dead skin cells to keep my skin in tip-top shape! My favourite exfoliator currently is the Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream which is heavenly! Also, if my skin is having a bit of a bad day and needs a little pick me up I always reach for a face mask! I've been loving the Quick Fix Facial Purifying Charcoal Mask recently! I usually just apply it to my T-zone as this is my problem area and leave it to set before washing it off.

My First Blog Post

Good afternoon! Here I am writing my first blog post - something I never thought I'd be doing a year ago! Because it's my first post I thought I'd tell you a little bit about myself and what you can expect from this blog!

First of all, as you've probably guessed my name is Rebecca, I live in the incredibly drizzly United Kingdom and I am 18 years old. I am a makeup hoader/addict/enthusiast whatever you want to call it and I am an aspiring makeup artist and soon I shall be studying to become a fully qualified makeup artist (exciting!) 

When I'm not messing with makeup or got my face in the pages of my latest read I'm either working, spending time with family and friends and I'm also quite partial to a night out with my girls! (A hobby which if I say so myself I excell at). 

So, I think that I've droned on about myself enough now so I'll let you know why I started this blog and what you can expect to be reading. Okay so, I started this blog for a few reasons one of them is that this summer I have had A LOT of spare time on my hands due to finishing my last year of sixth form and I thought what better way to keep myself busy than to let my creative juices flow and set up and write on my own blog. The second reason I started this blog is my passion for anything makeup or beauty related! I love talking about makeup and beauty, I love trying new products and I love sharing my favourite products with anyone and everyone who will listen!
